It looks like you didn't have enough overlap to properly render the trees so the Flat Map Failover feature filled in the missing area as best it could.

In a recent mission to produce a map of my property (10 acres), which has a lot of forests surrounding it, map pilot, pro divided the mission into three flights. When I uploaded the images and they were processed, I found two of the mission flights images appear to have been rendered with high resolution mapping, whilst the third (to the east of the plot) has been processed with blurring. I'm not sure why this has happened as all the flights took place within an hour of each other, all of the images are pin-sharp when looked at individually, and the overlap looks good for all three flight areas. I used Map Pilot Pro to set up the mission. The drone was a DJI Mavic 3 classic. Can you advise? This is an issue as I've used up points in processing a map which is unusable

You need to use AT LEAST 80% overlap when trees are involved and also need to account for the tops of the trees being higher than the ground level which gets them less overlap in general.
Ok, but the overlap map I have shows a good spread. Also, I used Map Pilot Pro to plan the mission which shows 80/80 overlap. Does it not account for this? If not how do I change that in Map Pilot Pro.
80% should be the minimum when dealing with trees. You would have to use the Ground Offset feature to raise the plane for which the overlap is calculated.

This would put 80% at the tops of the trees, not the ground. The tops of the trees were likely only getting 70-75% overlap depending on the height.
It also looks like there are some terrain changes involved so you would need to use the Terrain Awareness feature in the mission you are exporting.
OK thanks, I'll give it another shot and fly it again. I was using the terrain following feature, but not the ground offset. I guess I should try for 92% overlap and a 50ft offset, but of course that increases the number of images to be processed. That area is about 150ft lower than the top of the hill (take-off point) I now have 6 flights to cover the area!
Cheers
Bernie
The difference between 80% and 85% is quite large. Just do 85% and used terrain awareness and it will probably work out fine.
OK, will give that a shot as soon as the weather improves. I am assuming the DJI process is optimal rather than the Classic or Flat Map options?
Cheers Bernie
The processing is the same for the DJI and Classic workflows. It is just a difference in how it is uploaded and the pricing the is available. Subscriptions only work with the DJI workflow.
The Flat Map is a different thing for different needs and is used to fill in areas where the normal photogrammetric processing fails.

Ok, I re-flew it today at 85% coverage with terrain following but don't think Map Pilot Pro is going to work out as a solution for me. I am a recreational user and I now have 776 images for this mission, and the Pro Plan only allows 574 images. So, it looks like I would need to spend $30 just to process these for one map. However, I am not sure I would get a good result and that is way too expensive to run as a test. :-(
Mapping trees is more computationally expensive due to the complexity of the scene.
You could try using slightly less overlap as was instructed. 83% is a lot more than 80% in terms of overlap coverage (49 views vs 25). That would likely yield an image total that would work in the Pro plan.
Since it is just for recreational use you could break it up into two different sections and then combine them in a Location Map.
Thanks. Ok, I will give that a shot again. However, if you read back you will see I did use 80% and terrain mapping originally, which resulted in the blurred area! I'll try and set up a new plan and altitude to keep the photos under 524.
Yes. I was just pointing out the large difference between 80%, 83% and 85%.
