Drones for 2025

It has been a few years since I've done mapping. I have an old Mavic Pro that hasn't been fired up in a while. Need to map about 100 acres on our farm. Will it still work?

What are the best pro-sumer drones in 2025 being used with Maps Made Easy?

Thanks in advance! Jay

Yep! Still pretty heavily used actually. Do some manual flights in a safe place and make sure the batteries are going to behave and have at it.

Top waypoint support these days is Mavic 3 Enterprise. DJI hasn't really released anything decent for mapping since the Mini 3 Series.

Awesome. For the Mini 3’s, I assume it needs to be with the basic remote that works with iPhone?

General question: given DJI has gotten rid of their API hook, what is the most common new drone used for mapping with your platform?

To be honest, there really hasn't been anything great that has come out for mapping in the last few years. DJI is basically saying you have to buy an enterprise aircraft to do mapping professionally. There are various workarounds on some of the new smaller aircraft. They are supported by KMZ export only which means Map Pilot Pro generates a KMZ file that is then opened in the DJI app and the waypoints are executed. They fully have the capability, DJI just isn't exposing it in third-party apps anymore. Be sure to let them know how you feel about that.

be sure to check the list for remote compatibility.

what are your thoughts on a Matrice 4E ?

I have an old dji mini 2 and would like to get something that would work on bigger projects like volumes 3d modelling and mapping posibly to generate some income. I've used my mini to try my hand at mapping small areas and very small volume piles, and almost forgot...the neighbours pool deck rennovation. And yes I let them know mission day so there were no sunbather suprises so don't ask :)

here's the pool deck map...

The Matrice 4E will be the default good option to use moving forward as the Mavic 3 Enterprise has been until the M4E release. Feel free to reach out to DJI to let them know waypoint and SDK support are super important to you as a user and you would really like to see cheaper options available.
