Why when running a flight plan, the "Connectionless" option is stuck on "Active Connect" and does not allow changing it?

Hi, I've been doing photogrammetry flights in a city, but I've noticed several times that when I connect the Controller to the iPad, the "Active Connect" option is grayed out and won't let me change it even before running the flight plan. I have to restart the app to let me change it as if it were a bug. And I can't do my work with "Active Connect" because I lose the signal constantly, is there a solution?

I'm using a Phantom 4 Pro 2.0 with the firmware updated to the latest version, the remote controller is also updated and I'm using a 7th generation iPad, also updated which is only for exclusive use for Map Pilot and this app is also updated.

Lately I've been getting quite a few app errors, lag and freezing in the app, it makes me sad because I use this app and I always recommend it to my students who have already purchased the membership for their practices but they point out similar problems to me.

We will look into what could be causing this. Was it a saved mission or a freshly designed one?

The lagging and freezing has to do with the device overheating (common in the summer) or limited system resources. We recommend having at least an A10 processor as a minimum. Even with that you might need to close other apps to free up system resources, make sure all other drone related apps are fully closed and keep an eye on the temperature of the device.

If you only use the iPad for drone work I would stop applying the large iOS updates to it if you can. Each one takes more and more system resources which leaves less for the apps.

Thanks for the reply, right now I am doing a flight, the same thing happened again, when I open the mission, it says "connectionless" which is the option I chose when I created the mission, as soon as I connect the controller, the option automatically changes to "Active Connect" and turns gray, I restart the app, open the flight plan, connect the drone and the same thing happens, I have to unlock the edition of the plan to put it back to "connectionless" it flies in connectionless very well but when I return to change the battery, when I restart the drone to continue the flight at the point where it left off, it again changes to "Active Connect", it turns gray and this time I can't unlock the flight plan to change it because otherwise I would lose the progress I have made, I have to stretch or dangerously stand in a high place so that the drone does not lose signal and can take the pictures, it is dangerous and very uncomfortable, any solution?

Thank you for your accounting of what is going on. We will look into it. If you save it as Connectionless it should be recalled as being connectionless.

If at any time it is not picking back up where you expect it to you can select any corner waypoint while the blue verification line is showing and it will restart from there so little progress is lost.

Something else just happened to me, the drone has a signal, the light on the remote is green and the signal percentage is 80% but the drone does not appear on the map, it simply disappeared, I also do not have the options to return home or stop, what should I do, the iPad is cold and a shady place and the cable is not the problem, even at times the low signal alert sounds but the remote control remains with the green light, what do I do, I do not want to lose progress and I have no way to verify if the photos have been taken, how inconvenient, before this application was reliable, I have used it in much more dangerous environments and it has always worked perfectly for me

If there is a connection and the aircraft location is not appearing on the map it would likely be that there are less than 10 satellites for the GPS fix. Or there are serious connection issues. You always have the option to return to home using the remote. This is your responsibility as a pilot to ensure the failsafes are valid options.

You can verify if the images are being taken by syncing the flights logs to your Maps Made Easy account and reviewing them there. Your most recently posted flights from today seem to have series RC connection issues. I understand this is why you are trying to get the Connectionless flight going.

That's right, in the end what I had to do was close Map Pilot and open DJI Go4, the drone continued flying but without taking pictures, I had to bring it back manually, it had 15 fixed GPS satellites and the signal barely had one signal strip less. Of course, that's exactly why I need the "Connectionless" option to work well, I'm flying in a city where obviously there will be strong interference, yesterday I made flights but when checking the photos it had taken very few photos occasionally and not in order, I imagine that due to the problem of the forced activation of the "Active Connect" option is there a solution? in fact this is the main reason why I ask my students to use the application and buy the membership, because of how good and reliable the "Connectionless" function was and the reliability of the "Terrain Awareness" function, the idea is not to use another application that I have not tested before and I do not know how reliable it will be.

The Active Connect button issue has been addressed and a new version will be released tomorrow that has the fix.
