Hi, I was wondering if you have plans to support the new X5 camera (with different lenses) in your map pilot app?

Yes we have plans to do so and preliminary support is also in the works. DJI has yet to add support to the libraries we use for communications and we will be unable to fully support the X5 until they have done so.
Even then, the X5 camera is only good for very small mapping missions since the battery life is so short.

I am not clear on what is a small mapping mission or what camera to use. I am getting ready to experiment from using an x3 camera on an Inspire 1 to the x5 with a 1:1.7/15 Lens for a 25 acre map and 3D model. What camera do yo suggest with the 25 acres?
Jim: You can estimate what you will be able to get out of the X5 camera by using Map Pilot. The X5 is limited to one frame every 4 seconds so it ends up flying REALLY slowly. In general, we don't recommend using the X5 for mapping.
