Issues with MPP on Samsung S9 on Android 10

Hi there,

Thanks for being patient with my litany of posts over the last few days. I'm keen to getting a working arrangement with your app as your website outputs have been excellent so far. I downloaded 1.4.4e on my Android 13 phone and confirmed your new feature to disable use with Android 12+. I went and bought a second hand S9 with Android 10 on it today and have had a few more bugs pop up:

- On the flight journey from the takeoff location to the start of the mission plan there was a single crash. When I attempted to reload the mme I got a pop up about terrain awareness and not available on free plan. That makes sense, except that I was logged in on my Pro trial account with the device synced. I went to account settings and synced again (got the "already authed" message) and was then able to load the mme again and resume the abandoned mission plan. From there on the flight didn't crash, major improvement from my use with Android 12+ devices (as you expected). Any idea how to prevent this crash though?

- Although the mission flight continued successfully, after a couple of passes the life GPS map froze. This has happened before once on an Android 12 S10e as well. Any idea? Without this it can be tricky getting the drone back after a flight, especially if the RTH is misbehaving, and if the 3rd bug in this list occurs. The range number and GPS compass thingy continued working and all mission parameters like images taken etc, so clearly the drone was still flying

- My camera feed was an empty box for the whole flight. It has the icon to configure settings but where the camera feed should have been you could just see straight through to the map underneath. Combined with the frozen map I had to use DJI Fly to fly the drone back after the mission because the RTH didn't work for whatever reason Many thanks! Richard

Make sure you don't have any other drone related apps running on the device at all. This includes the DJI app. No background apps.

Map Pilot Pro requires a pretty high spec device to run properly. The things you are running into now indicate that the device isn't really able to keep up very well, especially with a Virtual Stick aircraft which needs everything to be perfect.

Interesting, thanks for the info. Did you mention that you've tested and confirmed the RC Pro functions well?

I have a Samsung S9.  While it's a flagship model, I cannot get it to work properly with my DJI Fly App...especially for Quick Transfer.  So the S9's software may be an issue.

That said, I bought a new phone that is a medium level/entry level smartphone - a Moto G Power w/128GB.  It came with Android 10 but I upgraded the software to Android 12...making it unusable with MPP.  It works fine with Dronelink though.  While it's not a flagship phone,  I wanted to test out these mapping softwares before investing in an $800 phone or tablet.

While I know these beta versions can also run on the RC controllers with the screen (I have both the RC controller with the screen and the RC-N1), I would not use the controller with the screen...it's slow, unresponsive, and not very good.

I'm fairly confident in what you've said already, I just want to double check before I think about investing. You've said RC Pro works great and that that's what DJI tests with (makes sense). Does specifically Map Pilot Pro work well on RC Pro?
