Api access response

I want to use the API access to create maps. And want to set public viewing of the map. What will be the sample response from that API? Can i retrieve the public url of the map generated using this?

Also I have generated a map and enabled public annotations and public measurements. but still its not showing to some people.

The API is not intended to change maps that are already processed and hosted on Maps Made Easy. It is for submitting new jobs without having to go through the manual upload process. The idea is that you would be hosting the data in some other way on your own.
