Rotating interface - Android (Partially Solved)

Is there a way to rotate the screen?
My system setting is set to allow screen rotation and is not locked, but the map pilot pro interface is upside down when using the dji mavic remote.

The USB cable on the phone bottom comes in on the left side when mounted in the mavic pro remote.

I could be blind and stupidly missing an obvious setting somewhere?

Bah! Thanks for the video.

I am not sure that we have handled that in the new Android app yet but it looks like we need to!

Not sure what is going on with the video feed but we will look into it. This is the first we have seen that. It sounds like it is repeatable for you. Is that a Mavic 2 Pro or a Mavic Pro?

You could try unplugging the cable and plugging it back in to force a reconnection.

Thanks for replying Zane

Will unplugging / replugging cause it to loose its control over the drone or loose its current progress? I am using a mavic pro.

It would be cool if there was a "Save current progress" button so I could be sure its saved and then load progress again the next day to continue flying.

Aside from a few little polishing issues I love how well this works.

If you are flying and you unplug/replug the aircraft will continue flying along its flight path (as long as it is not a virtual stick flight). Images will not likely be taken anymore if it is an Active Connect flight. If it is Connectionless it will likely have continued to take images as it flies. When it reconnects it might display the video and telemetry. Maybe.

There is a save current progress functionality in there already. When you hit RTH or the aircraft heads for home on its own it drops a blue dot which is the mission's abandonment point. The next flight would start from there. If you don't like where that was drawn you can tap any corner waypoint while the blue verification line is showing and it will restart from there.

You can read more about this here:

Partially Solved

The USB-A port on the bottom of the Mavic Pro remote I thought was a usb charging ouput port only.

However today I discovered that I can use a standard USB-A to USB-C data cable to connect my phone and it will work. I dont need to use the mini-usb port on the side or the short phone cables that the remote came with.

Because my USB-A to USB-C cable was a metre long, I was able to freely rotate the phone and place it into the remote holder at the orientation to have the map pilot app showing the correct way up. I did not need a software solution.

Regarding the image distortion - the remote has had some increasingly bad issues over the last few days maintaining a connection to the phone via the included Mini-USB to USB-C cable, hence why I tried the USB-A port on the bottom of the remote. I stumbled across the solution above.
It maintained the connection fine but I have not yet tried to see if this solved the video display issues but will update next time I test it.

Thanks for the feedback. It does sound like a cable/hardware problem.

1.1.1 has the ability to change orientations with the rotation of the device.
