Mapping long distance

HI, I was trying to map a 20 hectare parcel. From where i was standing my phantom was like 600mts away and starting to lose connection with the RC, that wasnt the problem as it continued to fly in he scheduled plan, so it came back after a while. The problem was that no pictures were taken during the time that I lost connection. Is this normal? IS there a way to fix it so that it still takes the scheduled pictures even when its not connected to the RC?

Please help I need to map this large parcel and my Phantom 3 will for sure lose connection at some point.

Map Pilot flights are all done under DJI waypoint flight control. As long as you have it set to return to home in DJI Go, that is what will happen. The active part of the Map Pilot connection is only for taking images since setting a timer isn't a great way to take data. We are a weird case of being a hybrid between automated flight and actively managed imaging. Rest assured, your aircraft will continue along the prescribed path until a low battery is detected or the mission completes, connected or not.
While the flight control itself is done onboard the aircraft since it has been programmed, the imaging signal comes from the mobile device and will not be available in the event of a signal loss. This will cause images to be missed.

Also, try to select a takeoff point near the middle of the large area if possible so you will be closer to all the various areas of the survey.

So how do you move around with different home point in the one model?
