Go ahead and update. We will have a new build out today (hopefully very soon). I wouldn't recommend using it without the latest latest build though. You never know what DJI changed in there...
I just saw the DJI announcement, "DJI is happy to announce the release of Intelligent Flight Modes..."
Should I update and try it with Map Pilot?

I'm also curious - but I will wait for Tudor's answer. The Map Pilot app for iOS has been working great for me since I started using it a week ago.
I checked out the new DJI update for waypoints with my P3P yesterday and it worked flawlessly, well sort of. DJI decided to force the pilot to fly the route first to set waypoints(?) WPs cannot bet set via the map. Then the route is saved and can be flown. It is unnerving to watch your bird go off on its own. The shutter has to be manually operated, though. Does map pilot handles the shutter automatically?
Luis: yes it does.
Tudor,
Is map pilot certified for P3P use yet?
Yep. It works with the publicly released firmware but we are still beta testing to get rid of bugs and incorporating new features. We hope to have something publicly available by the end of the month.
I downloaded the zip file just to play with it, but I 'm stumped on how to unzip a zip file in iPad . Any suggestions. Thank you.
Please always refer to DJI's update instructions since they are always changing.
I was referring to the map pilot zip file
Approved Firmware:
•Phantom 3 Professional - Firmware v1.4.0010 - Download
•Phantom 3 Advanced - Firmware v1.4.0010 - Download
•Inspire 1 - Firmware v1.4.0.10 - Download
Oh I get it now, the above is the dji update, not map pilot?
Yes. That is just a link the current firmware that the app will work with. Currently that is the same publicly released firmware that is available on the DJI site.
One additional step on the official load (that I didn't do before) is pull the battery. Power cycled after update and couldn't get DJI app or Map Pilot to connect. Pulling battery on Phantom cleared it up. First full test flight today using Map Pilot 1.1.4 and DJI firmware 1.4.0010. Flight was flawless, processing map now....
