When the matrice detects an object at low altitudes while mapping should it go around the object and continue its mission or just stop completely?
We just played our with a Matrice a bit. You need to set up the behaviors in the aircraft settings unless you plan on having some other on-board control that will make those decisions. I would say that for mapping, up and over is probably the best way to go but be sure to have the trigger distance pretty far out in front of you.

Dunno! It kind of depends what it finds. Going up and over might be nice. We have been scared to do "up" moves when we find things because we don't have an up proximity sensor. We have been considering around but it gets weird there too... Guidance is missing a pretty important part of object avoidance.
We'll leave this open for a bit to see if anyone else wants to chime in.
Since there is no up sensor I don't think that would be a good option. Going around might make more sense if it's a tree. Guidance will stop and vibrate if objects are detected on 2 or more sides but if there is only 1 object it would be nice to go around it.
These are settings that need to be defined within the Guidance system. Map Pilot will not control the flightpath of the aircraft other than defining the waypoints that are to be visited.
Which settings did you change for it to make the up and over decision?
