how to manually launch the aircraft

Sorry for my crazy, I don't understand your instruction to start use your app. This morning I try to test your app for doing a map, I've to power on RC. then power on the craft and then launch Map Pilot app. I do path of flight plan on your app, save it. But the next step I don't know how to manually launch the aircraft. Going to DJI Go app and take off then back to your app and toggle switch mode to F ? Please advice me.

Here is the proper startup sequence:

Start up the remote
Start up the aircraft, make sure you have a green light on the remote
Connect the mobile device
Start the DJI Go app to check for updates or system errors
Close the DJI Go app
Open Map Pilot
Check that you are properly connected and have a video feed
Do your flight planning
Switch the PAF switch to F
Manually take of to an altitude of 5m using the remote control sticks
Push the Upload button to upload the flight plan to the aircraft
Push the Start button to command the aircraft to commence automated flight.

Any pilot should be proficient at flying the aircraft and should not totally rely on automated flight controls. In the case of an emergency, the pilot should always take over by switching the PAF switch to P mode and maneuvering accordingly.

Could you post here the startup sequence for Phantom 4 aircraft? The PAF switch referenced above is PSA on the Phantom 4 controller, with P & A on the respective controllers appearing to have the same functionality. F & S, however, appear to function quite differently. Therefore, should step 9 for the Phantom 4 require a "switch to S" or does the operator remain on or go to P? This is also relevant to the emergency instructions in step 12. (One other post in the Forums appears to suggest that Phantom 4 controllers be on P, yet confirmation would be helpful--especially for P4 operators that find only this post.

The Phantom 3 and Inspire aircraft need to be in F mode to enable the waypoint flight and should be switched to P mode in the case of an emergency.

The Phantom 4 needs to be in P mode to enable the waypoint flight and A mode for emergency flight.

Both aircraft will tell the user if the remote is in the wrong mode when trying to load a mission into it.

Basically, the mode that allows for the mission to be programmed into it should be switched out of in order to take it over.

For the Phantom 4, does this mean that switching to S will not provide manual control of the aircraft?

Also, after switching to manual control and adjusting the aircraft, would switching back to P automatically resume the mission that was underway before switching to manual control?

You just have to switch out of whatever the programmed flight mode is to take control. We generally recommend the GPS controlled mode instead of any ATTI mode which will allow the aircraft to drift.

It is always best to restart your mapping run in the case of having to interrupt it but it is possible to restart where you left off as long as you can hit the "Pause" button before switching it out of the programmed flight mode.
