Start mission after flying to altitude and close to the start point?

I would like to know if I can manually fly to altitude and near the green start point before I start the mission?

I would also like to land my aircraft myself. After the aircraft has picked up the last picture point and is on its way home, can I just put the controller in p mode and fly it home myself without harming the data I collected?

You can always take over at the end of a flight and land it manually. When starting a mission, one important thing to know is that the location the aircraft is in when it takes off to begin a new mission is defined as the home point which it will return to at the end of flight.

If you fly somewhere manually and then start the mission it will return back to that location at the end whether that is the desired result or not.

We recommend doing the manual takeoff that the warning message suggests (you don't really have to go up to 5 meters) and allowing the app to aircraft it's thing. It goes straight up to the cruising altitude from the launch point.

Landing the aircraft yourself is always a good idea if you want to do it.

I don't change to p mode to land. The remote beeps and tells you to take control.

I assume as long as you are over 5 meters the mission will start properly. In my testing I've not had any issues starting missions as long as I was over 5 meters high. It did not matter where I was in relation to start point.

When does it beep at me to take control? In some cases I don't want it to come straight down to the home point I want to bring it in at an angle / slope. So I need to know if I can change to p mode after the bird is on its way home without messing up the results. I have a place I want to collect but the home point is in a clearing of trees

So I will start mission when I am at 60 meters high and near the start of the first pass and should be good to go.

I've taken over after the last photo and flown home. I can try to test some various scenarios tomorrow. My first mission I took over right away after last photo(watching your UAV fly away is unnerving the first time so I was anxious). I now let it fly back to starting point, but it stays at altitude. Not sure if that is intended functionality or just because of where I'm flying. I land it from there.

I mostly fly in trees. Here's a sample. https://www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/public/725bd90b751c45e187bc1548e84ebe66/

Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted to know. If it goes straight up to mission altitude before moving toward 1st start point then I have no worries.
