icloud backup

Is icloud backup the only way to save missions? We plan to fly the same missions over a large project area for the next 4 years. We want to make sure we do not lose the flight paths if something happens to the ipad.

Interesting issue. The flight data itself is stored in the flights.plist file that is accessible through plugging into iTunes. This file alone should be enough to recall the flight data. The cached basemap data will not travel with it though if you don't operate off the iCloud backup since it gets stored with the app data. We will look at how we can address this in future releases.

Thanks Zane for your reply. You mean backup apple backup ? I want to setup my new ipad from zero this mean not from a backup of te old one. Is there still anyway just to backup and restore only the Map Pilot missions?

Tony: There is not a way to do that. You can email the Flights.plist file out of the Log File Manager and load it on to the new device via iTunes to get just the flight path information from the old missions but the base maps won't be there.

Thank you very much Zane. The flight path won´t help me at all because what I need is the missions and its properties like altitude overlapping etc...

Thanks again for your replies

The flights.plist file has all of the information needed to fly the mission again. It just doesn't have the basemap imagery. You can download that again though without issue.
