Images are not getting dropped in connectionless mode. They are taken as triggered by the onboard hardware and the fact that an image is taken is sent to the app for display. That reporting can be a little uneven the images were actually more likely to be taken properly than with active connect on.
In active connect, the dot gets drawn when the app tells the camera to take an image so it looks better. In connectionless, the dot gets drawn when the camera tells the app it took a picture so it is likely spaced better but the dot spacing can look worse.
We will look into the default states of the saved missions and likely make a fix soon.
