Roof Edges

Guys, I'm still having problems with roof edges and other things where it looks like the processor is adding some of the wall below it which is actually not able to be seen because of the roof overhang. Same thing on box vans and anything with some height it seems. The following example is with 75/70 overlap from 200' with pretty good light. Everything looks great in the orthoimage with these exceptions. How do I do better?

The hard shadows there are very hard to deal with since there is very little information back in those shadows for us to match with. If you continue to have problems you may want to map on a day with flatter light.

Also...

Overlap, overlap, overlap. If you are having issues getting the kind of feature resolution you want, use more overlap. Your overlap report shows some greens and yellows. Those are bad. If you want the best quality you need everything to be in the dark blues.

Thanks Zane. I'll bump up the overlap. I try to fly with thin overcast for diffused lighting but up here in Washington we take what we can get this time of year!

Another test. Notice lines on the asphalt are sharp but standing seam lines on the roof are still a mess. Is this due to a lack of contrast on the roof compared to the lines on the asphalt or something else? If it is a contrast issue, I don't understand why the joints in the concrete sidewalk are good as they are also low contrast.

Will more overlap overcome this or something else? Or is this just the best that can be achieved right now? Thanks for the feedback.
