Unexpected Flight Behavior

Hi Zane,

I went to fly a large project yesterday with my Phantom 4 which required about 3 battery changes. The first 2 flights were normal. However when I initiated the 3rd flight, It flew up to the designated altitude and just hovered in place and would not go to the first way point of the last flight. I landed the drone. Exited out of Map Pilot pro, restarted and tried again, but the same thing happened. Then I tried just creating a new flight covering just the last area that I needed. Again no luck. Would just fly up to altitude, hover in place and would not go to the first way point. Do you have any clues of what might be causing this behavior. This project was about a 3 hour drive for me so its pretty unfortunate that his happened.

We are sorry to hear you had issues collecting your data while on the job site. Make sure all of your log files are synced with your account so we can see what is going on a little better.

Did anything show up in the Aircraft Errors panel (top right blinking orange)?

Are you in any sort of controlled airspace?

Yes, you too can see them here:

It looks like the vision system tripped during flight which is likely errant but the automated flight was stopped. You would have been able to see this in the Aircraft Errors panel. This mid flight vision system issue was the case with one of them. The ones that wouldn't get you get off the ground were because of the vision system too.

You need to take off from a clear spot or turn that system off in the DJI app if taking off from a totally clear location is absolutely not possible.

If I turn the vision system off in the DJI app, will this cause any issues with the flight imagery?

I see, this is just the vision system for obstacle avoidance. I assume its safe to turn off if I always fly about 250' and use terrain following since there shouldn't be any obstacles at that altitude?

Yes, disable it in the DJI app. We do not touch the settings for that. You shouldn't need it unless you were doing something weird…

I am downloading the CSV files and looking in the diagnostic column.
