Pre planning missions that are a long distance away

The missions I am experimenting with are for a mine site that is 400kms away.

Each time I want to create one i have to pan and zoom in and out to find the mine location. This is pretty tedious and time consuming.

litchi which I use for waypoint missions uses Google Maps and allows you to search for a location by name.

Is it possible to add this feature to Map Pilot?

i also had a problem yesterday whereby when I tapped to add a boundary point an error message said the point was too far away from the current location of the aircraft. Today the error message is not appearing and yet I don't seem to be doing anything differently.

Make sure you aren't connected to the aircraft when planning distant missions. If you are plugged in, it will use the aircraft's current position as the anticipated takeoff point. After making sure you are not connected to the aircraft, you can navigate to the are you are trying to map and double tap to indicate where you plan on taking off. This will draw the purple dot. After that, all the distance checks will be done from that point and you should be fine.

If you want to do a bunch of layouts in a row, turn the iOS device to airport mode after doing the first one and it should default back to the same place.
