Distorted GeoTiff

Any ideas why when I load my GeoTiff into a program such as Surfer, the image looks distorted? I've got two and both images get stretched horizontally. The GPS points are all accurate the image is just stretched.

We aren't familiar with the details of Surfer but this is likely has something to do with the projection you are using. Try loading another GeoTiff of the area in to use as a comparison.
