Images didn't save to card.

I recently flew a series of flights using my DJI Air2S.  Upon return to office I found that none of the images from the first flight, prior to the first battery change saved to the card.  The images are visible on the flight plan on website, and it says that 342 images were saved and shows file names, but the images are not on the card.

No DJI apps were running in the background.

I have used this card/drone/settings for several years without issue.  The SD card was purchased from a reputable dealer.  The air was slightly hazy so I kept the drone closer than usual to maintain visibility.  The connection as shown in the app never dropped from 100%.

A few times I did receive the "photo storage error" but those photo points are visible on the map and they account for only ~ 15 total of the missing images.

I am slightly freaked out by this as I have used this workflow for years without issue and I have a lot of work planned this summer.

We are sorry to hear you're having issues. Please send us a link to the affected flight log in the system. I just reviewed the most recent flights in your account and don't see any issues in them other than the fact that you are running 5.5.5… It is probably time to update. I'm surprised that actually still runs.

A whole lot of things have to happen for that dot to show up on the flight logs. Each dot is associated with a file name that is issued by the aircraft. If the aircraft issues a file name it is written to the desk somewhere. Maybe look in a different folder or something.

Hi Zane, thanks for the response. By flight log do you mean the link to the flight from within my dashboard?

I didn't notice that the version on my ipad was so out of date.  I alternate devices and it seems to have been updated elsewhere.

I have check all the folders on the card multiple times - the files are not there.

Have you checked the internal storage in the aircraft? It shouldn't be there but it could be.

Are you sure you didn't delete them somehow.? It would be the first time I have ever heard of that happening. If a filename is given and a grey dot gets drawn in the log viewer the image everything that was supposed to happen happened.

I checked the internal storage of the drone - not there.  I also downloaded two different data recovery softwares and recovered all images on the card.  I managed to recover old images from 2023 somehow but not the missing images.

I also took a closer look at the flight plans.  The missing images aren't all missing from one flight section, but rather are the images labelled DJI_492-999.  The card was empty, so there wasn't any reason for it to start at 492.  Once it cycles back over to 001, it created a new folder and started actually writing them to the card.  The first flight started at 12:16, I changed the battery and the second flight starts at 12:41, the first image is saved at 12:46.

That is weird. So now that the numbering has reset is it working in Map Pilot Pro?

There is a setting in the DJI that controls how the numbering is handled.

Maybe there was just something weird in the camera that it thought the folder was there or something and when the numbering rolled over it created the new folder that is actually there.
