I can't seem to figure out how to use terrain awareness. I went to this website:

...and followed the directions to get a map pilot access token. The app still does not allow me to use it. Help!
Are you having trouble purchasing it or just getting the preview to work? What error are you getting?
You need to fill in the Terrain Data Access Token in the Map Pilot settings menu so it can access the terrain data.

I am having trouble purchasing it. I have the access token and pasted it into the correct location. Trying to figure out what step is next.
You have to do a layout to get the Terrain Aware button to be enabled.
If you are not connected to the aircraft, define the survey area, double tap to select an anticipated takeoff location and it should be enabled.
Once you can preview the Terrain Awareness feature you will have the opportunity to purchase it. You can preview the layout for free but you have to purchase it to fly.
Got it! I now have it enabled. Let's say I don't have internet at a field site. I would then just plan ahead of time? Or would you recommend a wifi hotspot in case I'd like to change parameters in the field.
As long as the terrain data has been loaded on the device previously it will still be on the mobile device. Basically if you just plan a mock flight for the area you plan on operating in it will be fine once you are in the field.
