Comparing volumes over time multiple maps

I have a site that is going to be bringing in fill and I need to do periodic volume measurements to track amounts added. Is there a way to compare maps to get the volume added?

Our volume measurements are optimized for measuring stockpile volumes. It would be pretty easy to draw a polygon around the same area for subsequent visits and compare the values. There is not automated tool for comparing multiple maps though.
