drone turning motion during flight

Hi - I'm wondering if there is a setting so that the UAV (this is a multirotor) will stay oriented in the same direction during mapping.  In other words, instead of turning 2 90 degree corners to advance to the next flight line of the mapping mission, it would instead "move over" and "back up" to advance to the next flight line.  This would be useful to anyone who wishes to flip through the photos quickly while searching for ground control targets, as none of the photos would be upside down.  Also seems like a little more efficient in terms of battery life and flight time.

We understand what you are saying and if the cameras were global shutter cameras we would do this. BUT... These are rolling shutter cameras and if you collect one pass of data while travelling forwards and the next while travelling backwards the images will have different ground footprint sizes. This is a bad thing that will destroy the accuracy of the calculated elevation models.

This is why our Data Collection guidelines state they you need to have your camera oriented along the path of travel and that all travel must be in the forward direction. Map Pilot goes a step further and attempts to ensure that all images are collected while travelling the same speed. Having a dataset in which some images are traveling 2 m/s and some at 15 m/s will suffer the same issues.
