Low altitude terrain aware flight

Yes, this is recommended when flying below 10 meters or so. Fly high and use the SRTM terrain awareness to get the general shape. Be sure to use 80% overlap. Then process the data. Once it is processed that map's DEM can be used as the terrain data source for lower flight. You would use a two pass linear mission to do your actual flying.
