Write rate needed for sdcard to take photo every 2 seconds?

Hello

Trying to buy a sdcard that will support the write rate for a photo every 2 seconds. For both RAW and 90% quality jpg would be great

i know the app specifies under settings a “UHS Speed Class 3 (U3)” but when I try and find that spec the prices and manufacturers write rate varies from 60mb/s to 90mb/s. Another problem is some sdcards have a U3 icon but fine print says UHS Speed class 1.

Seems like the naming scheme is meant to be confusing but if I know the actual data rate needed I can spec out the proper card. And I can test the card beforehand and bitch to the seller if it’s way out😜

My main need is for mapping with stills and the occasional video work at 1080p.

Thanks in advance

Jeremy

RAW will come out at 5 seconds since that is what DJI specifies. You can do 2 seconds on most cameras with a solid SD card.

The naming and print on the cards means almost nothing these days... Buy something reputable and benchmark it on 8-10 MB file sizes.

Ok. I forgot to mention I have a Mavic Air. I just had problems with another sdcard and was getting picture write errors with a Map Pilot mission. Thought when I got a new one I’d get the right one.

thanks for the reply

The Mavic Air is one of the few aircraft that might not be able to keep up with that at all. Also, it has a pretty small aperture which leads to longer exposure times and slower flights.
