GPS & flight upload difficulties

I am using a DJI Phantom 4 pro and continue to have issues uploading to the drone. On the occasion that I am able to upload the mission to the device it states that there is poor GPS reception, despite the fact that the unit is detecting between 15-20 satellites.

One other issue is that the home point says it is never close enough when attempting to upload e.g. > 20 m from area. This is even when I tell map pilot to use the drone.

Incredibly frustrating.

Are you sure you have all other drone related apps closed? Having DJI Go or any other app that connects to the drone open in the background can cause issues like this.

Map Pilot will only allow you to take off if you have at least 8 satellites in view but there are some other quality indicators that are invisible to the user. It sounds like you have some pretty solid interference going on if you can't get a fix for the home point and have these poor signal issues popping up. I would recommend turning off other surrounding electronic devices or trying things out in a remote location with no sources of interference to rule things out.

I share your second issue re. home point, I too receive the ">20m" comment, when I am switching batteries between a multi battery flight, but then I press upload a second or third time, and it seems to work eventually. Seems like a bug to me.

The issue has occurred since I updated to the latest firmware in the unit. I re-calibrated the compass and reset the remote control settings. It appears that this has rectified the issue but was something I had not encountered before.

I suspect a combination of a substantial period of hiatus using the drone and DJI updates to have been the issue. All other drone related apps were shut down when experiencing the difficulties mentioned above.
