To have an app show position accurately in China you have to either register it with the government, get some special information and jump through a million hoops in Chinese or you can do what most of these other companies are likely doing which is use converters which are available on the internet. From what we understand, using this unauthorized information is pretty illegal and we don't want to get on the bad side of the Chinese government.

We have found nightmare stories about companies getting banned from doing business in China if they don't follow the rules. We are a very small company and don't have the resources to navigate through the registration process and can't afford to operate illegally there.
