There is no opportunity to use Google Maps since that will require us to rewrite our entire interaction interface, but we have recently added a way to use a different 3rd basemap in the system for times when Apple Maps is not sufficient.

Using Mapbox, you can get aerial image data from lots of different government sources and use that as your basemap for doing flight planning.
