I am preparing a bid on mapping a 300 acre lake / wetland during the dry season to show exposed / shallow areas. I am planning on creating a flat map for this assignment so I know I need to upgrade from the free level of map pilot pro. I beleive the "Pro" level should provide me with the ability to make the flat map.
I do not have a lot of experience with flat maps and with maps of this size. The lake / survey area is 6,600 ft x 3,100 ft. Drone = mavic2 pro.
@400 ft GSD = 1.1 px / inch...therefore 6,600 * 12 / 1.1 = 720,000 px
max map size is 200k per direction so I need 3 maps?
Would the reduced resolution option in the processing allow for this to be processed in one map or should I break up the mission into 3 areas to start with?
Interesting question. I am not super sure on your math there though... 6,600 * 12 / 1.1 is giving me 72,000 which shouldn't be an issue at all. If you were mapping an area 3-4 times that big it might start becoming an issue depending on the orientation of the rectangle.
