What would be required to do proper NDVI processing, and what is it's value?

I understand (and largely agree) with the MME position on NDVI processing. So what would be required to do proper NDVI processing? Could fly the Tetracam ADC/Snap on an Inspire 1 with MME and Map Pilot? What mods would be required? What would be the total cost?

I would also appreciate any links to the ag value of the NDVI data. Folks I've talked to say that they are already overloaded with data. So, just adding pretty pictures to the mix isn't going to work...

TetraCam's output JPGs are properly calibrated for upload directly to MME for NDVI processing. MicaSense is also capable of outputting calibrated NGB imagery which is suitable for upload.

Dealing with either of these cameras is a bit unwieldy and requires some onboard computing in order to work properly. This pretty much puts you into the Matrice category of drones that custom stuff can be carried on.

We do not doubt that it is easy to be overloaded with data. It becomes especially cumbersome if some of the data is inaccurate. Hence our stance on NDVI's applicability and current state of affairs.
