What is the best map software (free or low cost app) to use MME output. I use Google Earth but I am not satisfied with the drafting of lines, polygons, rectangles, etc. in Google Earth's 3D interpretation of the data. I would like to mark up/measure the created MME file and print it out in a straight down perspective. What am I missing?

We usually use QGIS but a lot of our customers use ArcGIS or other pay GIS software. There are some online only products by ESRI that are pretty good too.
You can make markups and measurement right in the MME web interface but it is pretty limited compared to GIS software.
