New Features

1- I used to use Dronedeploy DD App and found that whenever there is a disconnection or low signal strength between RC and Drone (even for 5 min maybe or more), there is No missing points or pictures at all since the drone will continue its mission for capturing the images as it was planed to be ! The reconnection will take place Auto when the Drone comes back or is becoming in the adequate range.
2- The Progress made thru DD App will be automatically saved in case of Dead battery or Return to home initiated and can be recalled to be used / resumed at anytime.

  1. They are likely operating in a connectionless state which just sends the aircraft out with the intervalometer set to 5 seconds. It will take images at different speeds (bad for accuracy) and cover less ground because the image interval is so long. Map Pilot attempts to address these two issues by maintaining a constant connection. We will be adding a connectionless option in a future release.

  2. For the same reasons listed above, connectionless apps are not susceptible to loss of progress since the aircraft is acting fully autonomously. For data accuracy and safety reasons we don't think that is a very good idea. Trade offs... We are working to add saved progress to a future release.

Just a small hint.
While Map pilote App is still better and has more potential than DD App, however; despite of the connectionless nice feature in DD along with the saved progress, i haven't faced any issue for making maps. Almost 100% of the images are well aligned with good overlapping all the time.
