Terrain Awareness RTH

Uploading a mission using data awareness I am asked if I want the Map Pilot to raise the RTH-height to clear all surveyed terrain or not. Assuming the aircraft is flying bellow a hill top at the time of triggering RTH, What if we select "No" for not raising the RTH-heigh?

1- The air craft (Inspire 2) will fly a straight line from where it already is towards home point and hit the hill side?

2- The aircraft will adjust the altitude based on Terrain Awareness data and keep the same constant altitude on the way back home as it was following the mission path?

If any RTH event is triggered the aircraft will go up to the adjusted RTH height. If you do not adjust the height you run the risk of running into the hill top if you were significantly below it and the extra 40 meters isn't enough.

An RTH event will always travel in a straight line from where it was triggered to the home point. Map Pilot is not in control of this, the aircraft is.

An RTH event is not terrain aware since the aircraft is doing its standard return to home maneuver. That is why we adjust the height to hopefully clear all of the surrounding terrain.

Thank you Zane. For me In simulation mode it seems that the RTH event is terrain aware.

I upload the mission. When asked to raising the RTH height I select "No". When the mission is completed "In simulation mode" the air craft adjust the height based on the terrain on the way back home and it avoids hitting hill side. Probably this would not be the case in real mode as you mentioned.

I just noticed that DJI Go has a setting "RTH Remote Obstacle Avoidance" which is activated for me. May be this is doing the job of avoiding impact to hill side on RTH in simulation mode. How ever I don't know if DJI Go settings would have any influence on the fliying while Map Pilot is performing the mission but I hope this will also work in real mode any way.
