You are using a USB wired connection, correct? Wi-Fi connections are not supported with Map Pilot Pro.
You can try unplugging it and plugging it back in. Also make sure there are no errors in the DJI app.
Hi,
I’m currently trying to use a Mavic Air 2S for mapping operations, however I’m having trouble getting the Android app to detect the drone.
The controller connects to the aircraft without issue via DJI Fly, so the hardware connection appears to be working correctly. However, when using both the Google Play Store version of the app and the Map Pilot Pro B APK, the status remains stuck on “Looking for Drone.”
I have already tried multiple troubleshooting steps, including restarting all devices, using different cables, and ensuring the DJI Fly app is fully force-closed before powering everything on.
If you have any guidance or additional steps I can try, it would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Pablo

Hi Zane,
Thanks for the quick reply, using the usb wire connection. Ive tried on two android tabs and two android phones with no luck.
I've tried multiple cables, have just tried an old ipad IOS and it worked flawlessly.
We're glad to hear you at least got that going. What version of Map Pilot Pro for android were you using?
on my tablet I am using version 3.1.9a, ive tried installing multiple times with no luck?
Sorry and when I say no luck, the app installs fine it just never gets a connection to the drone.
Make sure you are only using one version of Map Pilot Pro at a time. On your setup you can use either A or B, you don't need both.
Make sure you are plugging into the right USB port. The one on the top of the remote not the bottom one.
Double and triple check to make sure DJI Fly is fully closed.
Please post the model number for the remote you are using.
Did it ever connect or did it just stop for you?
I have got it to work, after more testing it seams to have been the usb C to C cable, I test approx 7 different cables, all which are data cables used from various cameras and SSDs so they are known Data transfter cables, to my suprise the only cable that does seam to work is the C to C cable from DJI, I had a spare cable from a DJI ronin which worked instantly.
Thank you for your quick help Zane, to answer the below questions for any future trouble shooters.
To confirm:
- I have tested both A and B (assuming version A is from the playstore?)
- I am using top port only, i believe the bottom is for charging only.
- I've tripple checked that DJI fly is not opened, I've tried various times, various devices and even on a device with it not even installed - still no connection.
- Remote RC231
- It has never connected not once, using IOS however, its 100% working
