Have you received an email receipt from Apple for the purchase? Can you see it in your iTunes account? If not, you were not able to successfully purchase the feature.
Regardless, it is safe to purchase the feature again since it can only be purchased one time per Apple account.
Make sure In App Purchases are enabled on your device:

OK. Have you tried deleting Map Pilot, reinstalling it and then repurchasing the feature?
I try reinstaling and still preview only
