Mini 3 Pro - Map Pilot Pro crash (grid mission)

Hi there,

Very impressed so far with the software. I tested 4 mapping missions with my Mini 3 Pro, N1 controller and Google Pixel 7 Pro phone (using 1.7.2e version).

The first 2 test missions were 'normal' and over a very small area as a first test. Both worked flawlessly. I then ran a more complicated 'grid' mission covering an area of 1ha (2.4 acres) - all started well but after approx. 70% of the mission the app crashed. No harm done as I was able to connect vis DJI app and land safely (50% battery remaining).

I'm trying to work out what might have gone wrong - perhaps the area was too large? I am very keen to keep testing this and wondered if you can tell the issue from my flight logs?

Based on your log file it just turned off so we don't have much else to go on.

There are issues in the DJI SDK that can cause crashes. We are not seeing anything in our crash reports or in the flight log file.

It looks like that device should be able to handle things pretty well. You really need to make sure all other apps are FULLY closed (especially drone related apps).

Beyond that I can't really say anything is wrong with your layout. Grid is find and the size is fine. Since the Mini 3 Pro relies on Virtual Stick controls you really have to make sure the RC connection stays super strong. This means tracking the aircraft with the remote as it flies and maintaining good line of sight. Missed telemetry shouldn't but could have been the issue.

Another note: 80% overlap is good but with full grid will give you too much overlap. Step it down to 70% overlap for full grid.

Thanks for the quick response - Zane.

Pretty sure I had all other apps shut down but will double check next time. I had good line of sight and was never more than 200m (absolute max) from the drone during the mission.

Thanks also for the tip regarding overlap with grid missions - will knock it back to 70% for full grid.
