complex structures in photos

For example, what happens to power lines and buildings in mapped photos when the seams occur there? Since things like power lines and roofs are in a different plane than the ground, isn't it possible they won't match up properly at the seam? Is there any way to minimize this effect?

Roofs and power lines are two pretty different cases. Power lines are very fine lines that don't have much detail to them so they don't tend to render well.

Roofs on the other hand are large and generally have lots of detail, making them easy to stitch.

Regarding roofs.  Even with very good overlaps it seems that roof edges are still often distorted in the resulting orthoimagery for some reason.
