Resuming mission after emergency takeover

In the top right flight control you can 'Stop' and 'Continue' the flight. This does not allow you to make location changes. On some aircraft it will allow you to change the position of the aircraft while the mission is stopped. 

If you actually leave the programmed flight mode to take evasive action you will need land and restart using the Abandonment Point or Manual Restart Point. 

So, yes, "go through the Pre-Flight and Start process" means you have to land and start over. 

We usually recommend stopping the mission and observing the other aircraft to see if any changes in position will be required. This is harder to do the closer you are flying to where other aircraft are.

This is rarely necessary.  And if it is, it probably means you should not be operating at that location.  Momentary cautionary maneuvering out of an abundance of caution really shouldn't mean you have to return to the home point.  But it is what it is, as they say. 

The limitation is that Map Pilot will not upload a mission to the craft already in flight, I believe.  This is not a SDK limitation but a Map Pilot limitation. All other SDK automation apps will upload to the craft at any time the connection supports it.  Maybe in MP v.6 ?

A long time ago we set an internal rule that we only program waypoints while the aircraft is on the ground and the home point is well defined. This was to combat aircraft flying away to unknown locations... Things have progressed sufficiently though for us to give this another look. Look for it in our next big release. When I say big release, I mean BIG.
