So I'm totally new to the x5 mapping world, but I have tons of experience using the x3 and MP and I love it. But I flew my first project today in auto focus and literally all 760 images are badly out of focus. What can I do to remedy this?

Double tap on where the autofocus should be calculated. Pick an area of high contrast.

Old answer:
You need to make sure you lens focus is properly calibrated in DJI Go first. If it won't pull a proper focus there it won't work in Map Pilot.

The focus was calibrated properly in the DJI go app when I first received it last week. The lens hasnt been removed or changed. I flew a second smaller flight today, one battery pack and same thing. Terribly out of focus. You can actually tell its going to be out of focus right on the monitor preview screen. I used different terrain this time too. The camera focuses perfectly in the Go app. I dont get whats up?
It can depend on what you are looking at and how fast the aircraft is moving. Doing an auto focus, which relies on successive contrast based measurements can be way off when the subject is moving. If the auto focus is not working for you perhaps you should look into setting your focus manually and enabling the Manual Focus setting the Settings menu.
