The field of view of most of these cameras is pretty wide so even with the camera pointing straight down it is getting detail at 30-40 degrees. That might be enough and it might not.
You can increase the gimbal angle up to 40 degrees which greatly increases the amount of coverage of the sides of vertical features.
The same overlap principles apply for Full 3D processing: get at least 20 looks at anything you want to render. This usually takes some hand flight to do big overhangs or tucked away areas.
It is very important when taking your "sideview" pictures that the aircraft is not moving sideways at the time of collection (orbiting).
Keep in mind that our Full 3D processing is intended for doing a single structure or small area, not acres and acres of woods or something.
