Georeferenced images

I am new to Maps Made Easy

I am testing the program and loaded about 20 images flown with a drone (DJI Mavick Pro) All the processing works as per the tutorials, but when i load the image into cad it says it is not a Geotiff image ? I have tried several times with same message - any idee what i am doing wrong ?

I know this is simple but did you download the GeoTiff image or the JPG?

The file you download from the GeoTiff link is most certainly a GeoTiff. We use it in the generation fo the tiled outputs.

I would recommend trying to open it in GIS software to be sure.

Thanks Zane - yes i did download the Geotiff. I though last night maybe it is because i am still on the trail version ?

Another question (hope in order) - will the program adjust the contour heights as well to be more accurate when GCP are imported ?

There are not differences between the files that are created if you are on a trial or not. The GeoTiffs we create have all of the georeferencing information embedded in them and don't require any extra files. You might be able to convert it into whatever you need using QGIS or something like that if you need the world files.

When the Manual Realignment process is used a linear offset is applied to adjust the elevations. This means that it will take out a fixed offset or account for tilt. What it will not do is account for barrel distortion or other non-linear curvatures. As long as you used 80% overlap your model should be pretty good in that respect so the linear offset would be fine. If your model is bad the GCP process isn't going to fix it.
