It sounds like you were using a version that was from before when we started offering support for the Air 2S which was at version 5.4.2.
Talked to DJI Support they have nothing to day except talk to the 3rd party people. Pass the buck. This is a new Air2s that connects and flys find with the FLY app. On ios or android. It either will not connect or shows errors. My P4P works just fine. Does the mode switch need to be in a certain mode? I had it on normal,latestfirmware.

Alright maybe I fixed this issues myself will see. I forced update on map pilot pro on the ipad and tried a connect in the house it now recognized the drone as air2s not air 2 and I was able to save a map like normal. I will try a test map here and post my findings. Tell you man these devices cause most of the issues people have not having updated software.
Yup guess no auto updates were happening on the ipad. I did test the air2s yesterday and it worked fine with your product. The P4P is much better however it would do in a pinch or for some crazy hike up a mountain side for mapping.
