Drone can't find resume point after battery change

I've attempted to map my 230 acre property with my Mavic Air 2 several times, with no luck. I previously mapped a small area which only required one battery and everything worked perfectly, but if I have to change batteries, I have no luck.  In one attempt, I was able to get the drone to return to the point it left off on the second battery, but on the third battery is flew off in the other direction way off my property and I finally had to tell it to return home. Every other attempt, once I swapped batteries it would head towards the point it left off and then fly around like it couldn't quite figure out where it was supposed to be. If I tried to maneuver it to the spot, then it would just hover. I was using this in the free trial with the intent of subscribing, but now I wonder if I shouldn't be looking for alternatives. Does the trial version have some limitation causing this? If not, what could be the cause?

Please update to 5.4.3. This was fixed about a week ago.

The Virtual Stick controls required for the Air 2, Air 2S and Mini 2 are very new. We are trying to work with what DJI has provided but there may need to be a couple more DJI SDK releases or firmware fixes to get everything up to where they should be.

Also, the Virtual Stick controls are pretty sensitive to wind at this point. Much more so than the waypoint flights. We will continue to improve these controls over time but for the time being please try to minimize flight during windy conditions.

it shows that I'm on that version, but I bet it updated once I got home. I don't have cell service at my property and I was up there when that version was released. I'm on a mountain, so there's always some wind. However, it had no problem returning home. It landed in exactly the same spot each time.

All of your recent flights were done on 5.4.2.

Another thing you could try is fully powering down the remote and the aircraft when you do the reset.

I flew several days ago Mini 2 in 10-12 m/s wind and noticed that it did behaved very unstably. Of course I quickly terminated mission to avoid crash.
