MAVIC 3

Hello

Mavic 3 will have a nice 4/3 captor (yes like a GH4 !) and a mechanic shutter

SO very good for photgrammetry : will MAP Pro ready to use it ?

Thanks ;-)

We will be supporting it once we get confirmation that it is going to support waypoint flight (since the Air 2 series does not) and they add support for it to the DJI SDK. They usually take a while from the time of aircraft release to supporting it in the SDK. It has been slower lately too. Once we get sufficient support for it in the SDK we will get something out quickly.

Great Zane, I was hoping you had advance SDK to start work with seeing as it is looks like the P4Pro' is heading for retirement with this next model becoming the goto mapping drone

We never add support until we have the aircraft in our hands for testing. There is little that can be done that doesn't require extensive testing. Rest assured, if we find that it is a suitable camera (which I am sure it will be) and it is enabled with waypoint flight we will be supporting it.

Mavic Drone Forum posted a message today that, per DJI, the Mavic 3 will not support waypoints.

Lots of grumbling. Not sure if waypoint support is missing that MPP can write something when the SDK becomes available to make the Mavic 3 compatible with MPP.

We are hearing all sorts of stuff about this today. I can't imagine why they would be doing this on a $2k aircraft.

We also heard this:

  1. Does Mavic 3 support SDK

Mavic 3 currently does not support SDK.

  1. Can Mavic 3 be used for surveying?

Mavic 3 does not support RTK or mechanical shutter. DJI Fly App doesn’t support mission planning. Therefore, Mavic 3 cannot meet professional surveying requirements. Images taken by Mavic 3 can be imported into DJI Terra for modeling, but the modeling accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

At least for the SDK the word "currently" is in there. That leaves some hope.

Good day guys! This new month brings a new firmware update. They have released the SDK, so my question is what is the timeline to be able to use my Mavic 3 with drones made easy software. I love it’s ease-of-use, Litchi is already working with it!

DJI Developer site and Github states that the IOS version of the Mobile SDK is at ver 4.16 and only supports the following "DJI Mini 2, DJI Mini SE, DJI Air 2S, Mavic Air 2, Mavic Mini, Matrice 300 RTK, Matrice 200 V2, Matrice 210 V2, Matrice 210 RTK V2, Phantom 4 RTK, Mavic 2 Enterprise, Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom" not the Mavic 3...yet

So I guess support for SDK for Mavic 3 is still missing. What a shame on DJI.

The best thing to do is sell this drone and stop being frustrated. Mavic 3 had a lot of promises, but...

You can't buy a drone and use it for whatever you want, you the industry wants to have different models priced differently so they can make more money... typical ..

Appears the use of the Mavic 3 for mapping is dead in the water as DJI has now released a Mavic 3E.

Ok now we know that we have to pay for an other drone : MAVIC 3 Enterprise

So will we have possibility to install map pilot on the RC PRO ?

thanks

Yes, the Android version will be able to be installed on the RC Pro via APK or the Amazon AppStore.
