Editable GPS coordinates

This is a request to add GPS coordinates to the mission planner. I do a lot of work on raw land that has not been developed. The developers will give me coordinates. Usually at least four coordinates to provide the area they need mapped. There is no way for me to enter these coordinates in the app. I need the specific ability to enter a coordinate and have it place a marker on the map. This needs to be repeated at least three more times to create a square or rectangle. This would make my life and workflow so much easier. Thank you for considering this upgrade.

some of the areas I do work in, being that they are not populated, do not have a cellular connection so it is really necessary to have this feature so I can properly plan the mission before going on site.

Hey Mike,

It would be useful and has been suggested before so who knows if ever makes it to Map Pilot.

For now, you can plot the points in either Google Earth, or even Litchi, and then export our a .kml that MP can look at.  It would be nice if MP had this ability, Litchi has had it for years.  But, the workaround doesn't take very long at all.

When dragging a marker around its current coordinates are displayed. That is all we will be offering as far as handling raw coordinates.

Four years later, is there any plan to add this feature for handling coordinates of boundary points? In new version of Map Pilot Pro (on 5.9.0 at least), dragging points aournd doesn't even show the coordinates anymore, only the width and height of the updated bounding box.

The feature could be that selecting a point without dragging it for 3 seconds pop open a window where longitude and lattitude could be edited (in decimal degrees). Simple, efficient.

You can make a KML, GeoJSON or GPX file and import that for use as a boundary or a flight plan.

Using an external file is a valid alternative. However, it forces the use of an other mobile app (like Avenza Maps) or of a computer software (like Google Earth or QGIS) to create those files, which is less convenient than quickly editing the coordinates of a point directly in Map Pilot Pro.

But where are these coordinates coming from?

You could use Google Earth right in the mobile device to enter the data and import the KML into Map Pilot Pro.

This is a very niche need. Typing in coordinates is something that is generally not done in most softwares.

If you REALLY REALLY had to you could probably send yourself a .mme mission file to see the format and edit it with the typed in coordinates as needed.
