Golf Course Mapping

Hi there

Just new to your sites and so far very impressed. A couple of questions trying to avoid information overload.

I am a photographer who is trying to combine and expand his skills set.

I would like to map golf courses to post and publish individual golf holes.

What are the best versions of your maps to use for illustrative purposes and also be able to measure and overlay distances on each hole?

Apart from Photoshop for the design process what other software is required to achieve this?

Would it also be possible using Drone Pilot and Maps Made Easy to map and plot slope levels on individual golf greens, and if possible what additional software would be required to produce these slope maps?

Regards and Thanks

We have lots of people that create detailed maps for golf courses that are used in customer facing sites and for maintenance purposes. It is a proven business.

Start small. Use Map Pilot to do a small open field area that will take 60 images or so. Then process those for free.

The sharable and embeddable public URLs are able to do measurements right in the browser. No Photoshop work is required.

Maps Made Easy does not allow for slope measurements in the browser. GIS software is required to do that and is a little more involved. We recommend QGIS for the processing of our DEM output. Here is a link to an article that would be useful:
