Thanks for the good screenshots. We were aware of this issue with the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual but had not seen it on other models. We have already reported the issue to DJI and will add this to the reporting.
Hi,
I've started using a Mavic 2 Pro to execute simple mapping missions.
However, for some reason the camera isn't orienting itself perpendicular to the flight lines. The weird orientation also changes during missions, and can cause significant issues with image overlap.
I've done all the camera and gimbal calibrations in DJI Go 4, and no issues are flagged.
Have used several DJI platforms for years with Map Pilot, and haven't come across this one.
Not sure if anyone has had a similar issue, or can recommend any solution or troubleshooting.
Thanks!

I also have the same issue with Inspire 2 X5s 15mm.
A gimbal set to follow mode.
iOS Ver.13.1.2
MP Ver.4.0.8
Thanks,

Thanks for your response Zane, look forward to hearing more.
I've attached here another screenshot to show how the camera changed orientation as it proceeded through a recent mission.
As you can see it was almost perfectly along-track at times, really destroyed overlap!
Here is a plot of Timothy's most recent flight. The blue line shows the aircraft's yaw, the orange lines shows the camera's yaw. The blue makes sense. Goes out one way turns, comes back. The orange however is drifting further and further off.
This is a new behavior that we are trying to figure out. It might be a firmware issue, it might be an SDK issue, it might be an app issue. This plot is from the raw gimbal attitude numbers that are being reported to Map Pilot by the DJI SDK. Map Pilot is certainly not commanding this yaw to occur. We are looking into possible causes but it is really hard to test because it doesn't show up in the simulator.
Look for 4.1.3 to come out today. Enable 'Advanced Settings' at the bottom and then change the 'Turn Mode' to 'Straight'. This will help the gimbal issues hopefully.
