Error in Phantom 4 and Phantom4 pro

Hello, I use the application in ios 12.3.1 with phantom4 and phantom 4 pro v2.0 and sometimes during the flight the application is closed, although the drone follows the route, it no longer takes photos or create return points to continue the flight after changing the battery. Also, in phantom 4 the drone does no do the flight well. It starts to fly but it stops suddenly, the it starts, it advances a few meters and it stop agan. Error logs appear continuosly. All ths happend since the last update. Thanks.

What version of Map Pilot are you using? The stopping suddenly is usually caused by the obstacle avoidance system, flying into the sun and smudged optics. We recommend turning it off. The log file will be able to tell you the source of the issue if you look in the App Warning column or view the output in AirData.

The version of Map Pilot is 4.0.4 build 061820191. It stopped suddenly in both directions. I always make the flight at the same time and place, never before drone dit it. The only change was the update of the application.

I updated the ios on ipad pro to 12.4 and the uav is no longer "bucking"...

I do get "error logged" a lot tho.

Last mission some of the images had the extension ".html" instead of .jpg. So not all the images are being saved correctly.

Before ios 12.4 I was getting "error saving picture" messages. Some of the picts did not have geo location meta data, so they couldnt be used for processing an ortho.

Let me add that I get "error logged" on every overshoot and lineup of the next leg of the mission. I would think that this might be "motion blurr" induced by the quick turn of the uav?

thx

I doubt that the update to iOS had much to do with the bucking issue. The 'Errors Logged' popup means something got written to the DJI Diagnostics column of the log file.

Not sure why there would be any html files being written either... You can email us one if you would like us to take a look but Map Pilot didn't write it.

Iv been using MP and trying Pix4d.

When i use MP, I do get "Photo Error: Storing Photo" quite a bit. Usually between 7 and 13 times on a larger mapping area. I can see when they happen in the log on airdata. An MP displays that as well during the flight. I have MP set for picts every 2.5secs.

Im using all current versions of ios, MP, P4P.

I havnt see this in the other app Iv used. Last week the client said that the geo info was missing, presumably on the photos with the errors.

im using samsung branded sd cards: EVO Select U3 64Gb. Today I tried it on a San disk Extreme U3 16Gb class I. I did get 2 of these errors on a short mapping flight.

I have ordered a SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC UHS-I 64Gb directly from SanDisk on amazon. Ill try that when able.

Thank you for the help and replies!!

Map Pilot is designed to fly and take images right at the edge of what the camera is capable of. There are a few instances where it goes faster than that for a brief period of time and usually the camera keeps up. Sometimes it doesn't. At the end of a pass I wouldn't worry about it. If it is in the middle of a pass it could be because of a slight speed change due to wind or SD card issues. As long as you are using plenty of overlap 1 missing image here or there won't matter much.

Check your flight in Flight Sync to see exactly where they are happening.

You can see in your Flight Sync plot that all the missing images were at the edge of the boundary which is nothing to worry about.

Thanks Zane,

I really do like your system. I noticed that after the mission MP quotes a price to process the mission. Very cool there.

So, whats your thots:

Use the "max speed" setting just above the estimated speed so not to allow flight speed to increase more than the estimated reported from MP.

?? Would that regulate the speed a bit and prevent excessive photo errors?

thank you for all your help! much apreciated

I know this should be a new thread but.....

After using MP and switching to GO 4 app i notice the cam is set to 3:2. (do i have that right?)

Q: Does MP switch the P4P to 3:2 for recording the photo data? (im assuming it does)

Q: Is 3:2 what I should be using to do crosshatch missions?

Q: since the sensor is 4:3, would using that take advantage of the full sensor?

thank you

3:2 is the highest resolution aspect ratio for the Phantom 4 Pro, it is not 4:3.

We try to use whatever is the highest resolution setting for any given camera.
