Mavic 2 Pro and Map Pilot

Hello,

How do you use Map Pilot for mapping missions? Specifically, I want to know how others are using the app operationally as a control station in the field. What are your settings? Are you using DJI Go 4 to set up the aircraft in any way prior to use of Map Pilot? Infinity focus? Auto Exposure? Terrain Awareness?

Part of the reason for asking is that we just flew a couple missions in which all of the acquired imagery was out of focus. I see in discussions on Map Made Easy that this used to be a problem with earlier versions, and some users were using a two finger tap on the video preview screen once the aircraft reached mapping altitude to focus the camera. However, I was under the impression that the app/aircraft should be doing this automatically.

Thanks!

I just flew my first test mission with my M2P.  My camera took the photos in Auto mode, I am guessing because that is how I left it from DJI Go4.  I didn't see any camera settings in Map Pilot (being new I may just have missed them??) other than the ability to select RAW in the main MP settings.  The map is processing but the images looked good to me.  We'll see how she looks tomorrow.

One thing I didn't like is that there isn't a FPV view whilst on mission but sort of makes sense since the camera is pointed down.

So, it turns out the Windows 10 laptop we were using to view images in the field did not have a proper Adobe DNG codec installed, therefore what I was seeing was not the actual raw image, but a very low res (960 x 400 something) JPG thumbnail. Installed Lightroom and viewed images there. They look great and exactly as expected.

The camera settings are only available once the aircraft is connected to the app in the black top menu. Tap on that and it should drop down. This is where you can change speed settings, set terrain awareness, etc. The camera options are in that menu.
