mapping an indoor stockpile

Before I try to collect these mapping photos, I thought it would be a good idea to ask if this has a chance to work. A county wants me to give them a volume estimate of their large salt stockpile that is within a very large shed.  The pile is up against the sides of the shed on both sides and the top/peak of the pile is less that 10' from the ceiling.

I think I would have to fly this manually and try to collect photos equally spaced for 80% overlap at a consistent height.

Will this plan work?  Or is there a better way to do this?

Yikes. I don't think our volume system would be able to to handle that for you since the stuff can be up against the sides. The flying would make me nervous but could probably be done. Get that done first and make sure to get some good coverage of the ground level behind and in front of the pile if possible. You should probably use STI to keep things nice and slow and use the highest overlap you can so you can get the coverage you need for the upper parts. Go up there an smash the peak off the sides if you can!
