Map output missing large sections, need a solution

I flew a mission a few weeks ago for a client that I've done a property map for two other times. They wanted the property mapped while covered in snow during the winter.

Despite having the most images and overlap I've had yet for this property, and wind conditions on the lower end of what i've had in the past, the map output continues to leave out the entire southern portion (1/3) of the property.

For reference, my last run of this map used 676 images and 70% overlap from 299ft, and it came out complete.

This mission resulted in 1091 images and 75% overlap at 248ft, and the map is incomplete. I understand the need for overlap, and the missing section is largely wooded, but other areas of the map that are wooded came out, and this hasn't been an issue in the past.

At this point, I don't even care why, but I've spent 2500 points running the map twice now, my client is frustrated and I have no idea how to process a map for him.

I need a solution asap. The snow is melted so I can't rerun the mission, and even if I could I don't trust this service anymore to provide me with a complete map, there's no explaination at all given, just an incomplete map.

He just needs a high res 2d image for planning purposes, but the flat map workflow only allows for 800 images. Does anyone know of any other services that will stich a map or have advise?

We are sorry to hear you're having trouble with your mouth. It looks like you're covering a large area of bare trees which can require 85+% overlap. This is noted in the data collection guidelines that are agreed to at the time of upload.

There are also large changes in topography which result in lesser overlap being achieved. You can see this in your overlap report.

You may have gotten lucky with lesser overlap before but in order to get reliable results you need to follow the data collection guide guidelines carefully for the kind of terrain you are covering. Having hard sun with bear trees and snow is going to be hard to do in general. Previously when it worked there was not direct sunlight which makes things slightly easier.

You state that you don't care why it didn't work but not understanding why it didn't work is why you are not getting the results you seek. I don't think this data set will be able to be processed by our system. And I highly doubt that any other software would be able to do it either.

I know this is not what you wanted to hear but this is why the data collection guidelines are in place. Some jobs are harder than others and this was a particularly hard one. If the data collection guidelines are not followed carefully a hard survey like this is going to be near impossible.

That's fair, thanks for the explanation in spite of my tone. I was feeling the stress of screwing up and It's much more convenient to assume it's someone else's fault than my own. Lesson learned, appreciate you taking the time to respond.
